The 2026 Monaco Grand Prix is scheduled to begin on 5 June 2026, with raceday taking place on 6 June. This is the first time since 2003 that the race is set to be held in summertime in Monaco, in accordance with the new regional grouping format introduced for the season. In fact, this will be the latest the event has ever been scheduled, marking a significant change for a race that has traditionally taken place in late May.

It was also the first street circuit to appear in the championship, setting a precedent for the urban races that followed.

How to Get to the Circuit de Monaco

Reaching Monaco for the Grand Prix is straightforward thanks to the region’s reliable transport links. The circuit runs directly through Monte Carlo, so most spectators arrive from nearby areas such as Nice or other parts of the Côte d’Azur.

By Train: The simplest way to reach Monaco is by train. Regular TER services run along the coast between Nice and Monaco–Monte-Carlo Station, with the journey taking around 20 to 25 minutes. Trains are frequent throughout the day and a standard one-way ticket usually costs between €5 and €6. During Grand Prix weekend services are often busier but remain the most convenient option.

By Bus: Several local bus routes operate between Nice and Monaco, including the popular Ligne 100 that travels along the coast. It’s an inexpensive option but can be slow on race weekend due to increased traffic.

By Car: Driving into Monaco is possible, though not generally recommended during the Grand Prix. Roads are busy, parking is limited and several streets around the circuit are closed. If you choose to drive, it’s best to arrive early and park outside the main town.

By Taxi or Ride-Share: Taxis and private hire transfers run frequently from Nice and other nearby resorts. This is one of the more convenient options, especially if you’re staying further along the coast, but prices can rise significantly on Grand Prix weekend.
