Location: Mogyoród, Hungaroring, Hungary
First F1 race: 1986
Track Length: 4.381 km
Track Laps: 70
Track Turns: 14
Unique Features: Known as the ‘Monaco without walls’ due to its tight twisty layout. It famously hosted the first Formula 1 race ever held behind the Iron Curtain.
The Hungaroring is located at Mogyoród Hungary, which is just outside of Budapest and has been the home of the Hungarian Grand Prix since its inaugural race in 1986. The race was originally planned to be a street race in the centre of Budapest before authorities deemed it too complicated, leading to the creation of the Hungaroring, a project that was completed in just 8 months.
The development of the track came at a time where Bernie Ecclestone wanted to expand the sport by breaking into new markets with Eastern Europe at the top of this list. This led to the development of the Hungarian Grand Prix.
The Hungaroing is a highly technical track with limited opportunities to overtake, which has given the track the nickname ‘The Monaco without walls’. The race certainly caters to drivers who excel at technical tracks with drivers such as Michael Schumacher, Max Verstappen and most notably Lewis Hamilton having plenty of success on the track.
The circuit also offers excellent track visibility due to its natural, open terrain, this allows spectators to secure fantastic panoramic views of the action. Combined with the natural beauty of its surroundings, it’s a top venue for trackside viewing with general admission, grandstand and hospitality areas all providing standout sightlines.
The Hungarian Grand Prix is one of the most popular summer events on the F1 calendar, and tickets are always in high demand. Seat Loader offers an excellent selection of tickets, with Hungarian Grand Prix hospitality tickets, grandstand tickets and general admission tickets available for the event. The Hungarian GP is one of the best value-for-money European events, with more affordable ticket options available. Additionally, accommodation, food and transport can be far more accessible than in other popular European destinations.
Grandstand tickets: The Hungarian Grand Prix grandstands provide spectators with excellent viewing opportunities thanks to the circuit’s wide, bowl-like terrain. This natural layout allows fans to enjoy broad panoramic views of the action, offering sightlines that are unlike many other tracks on the calendar. Each grandstand delivers its own unique perspective of the race, and with the Hungarian GP known for its more affordable weekend options, it remains one of the best value choices for European F1 fans.
Hospitality tickets: There are some fantastic Hungarian Grand Prix packages available for the 2026 Formula 1 season. All Hungarian GP packages provide exclusive benefits that elevate the race weekend in Hungary. Some of the notable options include the Hero Package, which offers a guided track tour, a championship photo opportunity, and a pit lane walk. The Champions Club Package is another top choice for those seeking a premium experience, with plenty of VIP perks such as open bar service, delicious canapés, light bites, a guided paddock tour, and much more.

The Hungaroring is located about 20 km northeast of Budapest in Mogyoród. Public transport improves greatly during the Grand Prix weekend, but roads are busy; planning ahead is essential.
By Train: Spectators take the H8 HÉV suburban railway from the city (starting at Örs vezér tere station) to Kerepes station. This is the first leg of the most reliable public transport route.
By Bus: Free official shuttle buses run from Kerepes HÉV station directly to Gate 3 of the circuit for ticket holders. A separate, paid "City Shuttle" service may also run from Budapest's central Heroes' Square. Older services from Árpád híd were discontinued and should not be relied upon.
By Car: Access the circuit via the M3 motorway (vignette required). General parking for ticket holders is usually free, but premium parking needs a pass. Expect heavy traffic and arrive early.
By Taxi: Taxis are available, but demand is high and fares increase on race weekend. Főtaxi is the only official partner permitted to use a dedicated VIP lane on the M3 motorway; other ride-shares like Bolt will be stuck in general traffic.
