    Fulham history

    Founded in 1879 as Fulham St Andrew’s Church Sunday School FC, Fulham are the oldest professional club in London. They have played at Craven Cottage since 1896, their historic home on the River Thames. Turning professional in 1898, they joined the Football League in 1907.

    Fulham first reached the top flight in 1949, but their rise to prominence came in the early 2000s under Mohamed Al-Fayed, climbing from the third tier to the Premier League. Their greatest modern achievement came in 2009/10 when they reached the UEFA Europa League final, defeating Juventus, Wolfsburg and Hamburg before losing to Atlético Madrid.
