Founded in 1877, Wolves were one of the founding members of the Football League, established in 1888. The club enjoyed a fair amount of success in its early years, even reaching the first FA Cup Final held after the Football League’s creation. Wolves quickly became a top-flight side and went on to secure their first Football League First Division title in 1953/54. However, financial issues and a series of relegations saw them struggle from the 1960s onwards. The club first experienced Premier League football following promotion in the 2003/04 season and have since bounced between divisions. This changed after the 2016 takeover, which helped the club secure promotion in 2017/18. Since then, Wolves have remained competitive in England’s top flight, even qualifying for European football in the 2018/19 season.
Brentford FC have enjoyed success across England’s lower divisions, winning titles in the Championship, League One, and League Two. Their promotion to the Premier League in 2021 marked a major milestone, establishing the club among the country’s top sides for the first time in over 70 years.

Wolves are now an established Premier League side, having completed six consecutive seasons in the top flight. Quality players such as Jørgen Strand Larsen, João Gomes, Emmanuel Agbadou, and José Sá form a strong core of the team. However, financial restrictions have limited investment in recent transfer windows, resulting in fewer quality reinforcements. After a slow start to the season, Wolves parted ways with manager Vítor Pereira and appointed Rob Edwards, hoping his approach will bring more attacking football and help solve their ongoing struggles in front of goal.
Wolverhampton Wanderers have one of the most passionate fanbases in the Midlands of England. The club have developed a strong local following since their establishment, and are known to create an electric atmosphere on matchday. Supporters can expect a huge prematch build up at the Molineux with LED lights and smoke displays used to build up the atmosphere. While Wolves have fantastic local support they are also well recognised all around the world, with strong following in both Asia and North America.

The Molineux Stadium is located on Waterloo Road in Wolverhampton and has been home to Wolves since 1889. It was one of the first grounds in the country to install a modern floodlight system, allowing the club to host high-profile evening matches. This included the visit of Hungarian side Honvéd, featuring the legendary Ferenc Puskás. After Wolves defeated them, the team was hailed by some as the “champions of the world”, sparking major debate across the footballing community. Those floodlit fixtures at Molineux played a key role in inspiring the creation of the European Cup in 1955.
By Train: The closest station to the stadium is Wolverhampton Station, which is around a 10-minute walk from the ground and is well connected to major cities.
By Tram: Supporters can reach the stadium via the West Midlands Metro. Trams stop at both Wolverhampton St George’s and Wolverhampton Station, and both are within walking distance of Molineux.
By Bus: Multiple bus routes stop within walking distance of Molineux Stadium. Fans can take buses 1–6 and 25, all of which serve Wolverhampton Bus Station, the nearest major stop to the ground. From there, it is a straightforward 10–12-minute walk to the stadium. Make sure to check official timetables for the most accurate information.
By Car: Parking is limited on matchdays, so fans are advised to plan ahead and pre-book parking where possible. Roads around the stadium become very busy before kick-off, and parking directly next to the ground will be difficult. Wolverhampton Council operates several pay-and-display car parks within a 10–15-minute walk of the stadium.
